I know for a fact that I read this book out of order as I have previously read Collateral Damage, but either way I’m glad I got the chance to give this a read… but in future if you’ve not read this series by Jessica Wayne, then I’d recommend that you read in order so that it makes a little more sense.
Either way, I really enjoyed this book, and thought that Jessica did quite an amazing job at it.
I love how the plot came together and made sense considering we start off 200 years into the past, it’s pretty incredible how things just fell into place and I loved the connections that were made between the characters.
I thought Abby was such an interesting character because for someone who doesn’t exactly see magic happen in real life, she doesn’t just dismiss the idea that it could in fact be true and does happen. Normally if you bring up the idea of magic to someone, then they tend to just dismiss it without thought, but Abby isn’t like that and would much rather see out the possibility that it’s there than just outright dismiss it. There’s just something quirky about her and I just love that she’s willing to take on anything and not run or hide when things get too tough.
I loved every minute of this and thought it was such a fun read, but then again Jessica knows how to put the adventure into her books and you can’t help but fall in love with her work.
I’d highly recommend giving this or any books really of Jessica’s a read.
Nearly years ago Aengus lost the love of his life, all because he did his best to protect Aine from Caipre. Now stuck in a curse which isn’t set to wear off until the anniversary of when the curse was struck. It was thanks to his sister that he may get a second chance at being happy and in love, but the only thing is that he needed Aine to find her way back to him… After thinking he would never see her again, his sister spreads the news that she is finally coming home and that he can stop moping about, but Aengus knows he won’t stop or be happy until he knows for sure it’s her. However, with Abby not having a clue what’s going on or why she has seen (Aengus) in her dreams, she knows she must get to the bottom of everything.
When she realises what’s at stack, will she stick around to help out both Aengus and his sister or will she run away because she has no idea what to make of everything? Will Aengus ever get her back or will Caipre set to get in the way and make things even more complicated for them all????
