I knew from the minute that I saw the covers for these books I was going to be in love with this series and yet again that’s the case. Emma Hart has done another great job at bringing her characters to life and I loved being able to enter their world and seeing things as how Emma pictured them. I fell in love with how everything transpired in this book, you could already tell that things were going to be well heated between Sebastian and Holley because of the resentment of what happened eight-years ago at their prom and anytime now that his name is brought up, Holley just can’t seem to let go of any of the anger she feels for him. Don’t get me wrong, I can understand completely why she hates the guy, but still she should of gone ahead and tried to hear him out… but even still I do think that Sebastian was a bit of a coward… He has so many opportunities to make his move if he really does feel something for her, but instead he just keeps to himself. Although, the kiss that he gives her to shut her mouth for once was just out of this world, hell… I would love it if I could get kissed like that, but then again it’s the type of kiss that all girls dream of having.
In all honestly, I do think things worked quite well, but whilst I loved it, I did think that some things could have been done differently… for instance, it seems like it’s forever before anything actually happens between Sebastian and Holley, even if Sebastian had taken her out of her comfort zone a little more by testing her boundaries, daring her to do the unthinkable or even possibly making true on his words it would have tested the waters a lot more and made it even more intriguing as it’s clear Holley doesn’t like it when she has no control over anything. I would loved to have seen the chemistry sizzle up a hell of a lot more as it’s clear it’s just waiting to explode between the two of them.
Other than that I can’t really complain or fault the book, I do like how the epilogue mentioned about how both Holley and Sebastian were getting on with their lives and how things turned out, however after reading how things seem to be going for Saylor I’m just intrigued to see how that all plays out.
Eight years ago Sebastian broke Holley’s heart, he was her best friend and they pretty much were inseparable, but after the one disastrous night Holley swore to herself that she would never bother with him again. However ever since she heard the news that he was back in town, she’d been on edge ever since. With wanting nothing to do with him and keep swearing to her friends that she is over all of it, she is doing a good job at lying to herself about how she feels for him. However, when he walks back into her life, he’s not keen to let her slip away and end everything, but what she doesn’t realise is that there’s more to the story from eight years ago… Will she be fooled and let herself be baited by Sebastian or will she stick with her whole plan of keeping him out of her life????
