When Addison Moore goes ahead and writes a standalone novel, I never know what to expect, because honestly she can surprise you at the best of times. When I picked up this book, I wasn’t sure what I would find, but after a tricky start, I did find myself enjoying the story, although I found that there was something missing which I couldn’t quite put my finger on. The beginning was a bit slow, but it did build up and keep me interested in finding out what was going to become of the story and Addison managed to do a pretty good job with this one. I found the writing to be good as always, the plot worked but there was just something missing that I can’t figure out. The one thing that I did find that was missing is that I would have liked to have known more about the outcome, how things progressed in the end, just that little bit more detail and it would have been a perfect ending. I do recommend that you give this book a read as it was a good story, plus Addison’s work is always amazing.
Bram’s and Ree have both been running from their pasts, something neither of them are willing to share more than they need to, to each other. However, no matter what, it seems like life doesn’t want to give them a break. They have two beautiful children, Bram’s got a full-time job in the profession that he loves and they’ve both just moved to a new area to hopefully start a new life where they won’t have to constantly look over their shoulders. Everything should be going perfect for them, but for some reason life doesn’t always work out the way that we want it, it seems like someone is out to get them both, but who on earth could it be?
