I was so excited to see what Elin Peer had created for her next book in this series and yet again I was honestly impressed, I never thought that I would have an interest in this type of story or book. Yet the way that Elin has created such an inspiring story honestly shocks me as I have been drawn in so much that I can’t wait to see what else she can create. The characters and the writing are honestly incredible and the way it’s been written you can see that whilst reading it that it will pull at your emotions and you will feel the same things that they feel.
I was looking forward to see how Sybina’s story would unfold because throughout Aya’s story we only learned of Sybina in little stages but it was interesting to learn about how things were before Aston was brought into the infirmary where she worked. It was amazing to see how everything was in the perspective of a women who had lived most of her life working for the Masi people, it was a huge shock but a relief in a way because it made you honestly feel for her and it tugged at your heart knowing that life isn’t simple as everyone likes to make out. Whilst I was reading through I had so much respect for both Uma and Sybina as it wasn’t easy for either of them whilst the war was happening but the fact that things were slowly turning around and the fact that they both remained strong no matter the circumstances honestly amazes me. I loved finding out more about Uma, Aston and Sybina because it makes you think that even though this is a book, this could still be happening out in the real world, but that if you ever felt that you was in their position you wouldn’t have any clue as to what to do about any of it.
I am amazed at what Aston is willing to do to help her and Uma, the fact that he has to come to face with his fears just so he can help them makes me smile because he is having to give up everything that he originally wanted. He knows that this isn’t going to be easy but the fact he tries to cover up how he truly feels isn’t exactly the best thing, but I understand that all he is trying to do is protect everyone that he cares about. However not everything always goes as smoothly as they both planned and possibly gets to the point that they may not marry due to a certain ex Tara. I want to tell you that everything is going to work out but I’m not going to because that would ruin the whole element of the story and I would rather you pick up this book and form your own opinion and for you to find out for yourself what exactly happens.
