I know for a fact that I missed reading book two in this series, so it’s gonna be a little out of order for me, but either way I don’t actually mind because of how much I love Emma Hart’s writing. Yet again she has written a super amazing story and this time it’s all about Piper (Josh’s sister), there’s been mentions of her in the previous books and she’s not made much of an appearance, but this time it’s all about her and her story and it’s heart-breaking hearing what she went through whilst she was away in Las Vegas learning to bake professionally. I can totally relate to her in some way with what she went through as whilst I didn’t experience it whilst working, I experienced things similar to her with an ex-boyfriend and the fact that she felt like she didn’t have the support of her parents I know how she feels with that as it’s horrible going through something tragic and not having the support from the people who are meant to always be there for you.
I loved everything that Emma did with this story and I just couldn’t put it down. As always there was so much going on over at the old people’s home, but having their antics included always makes me laugh and if anything it’s one of my favourite parts as it really does sound like fun, plus there’s always something new and different happening there.
I can’t fault this story, I thought Piper was such a strong character and I loved how the story developed between her and Maverick, as it’s not such a normal meeting. Plus, it was quite hilarious the way that they met, plus as always, her friends have to get involved but they don’t care how far past boundaries they go.
I am excited to see what Emma writes next as I know for a fact that I’m always surprised by what she writes, but also love it at the same time. Plus she’s always got some quirky characters written in and you can’t help but love them. But either way I would totally recommend that you go ahead and pick up this book because all the others have been pretty incredible and I can guarantee that you’ll end up laughing throughout the story.
Piper has had a rough time recently, and with her being involved in an incident back in Las Vegas she’s now back home and living her dream of owning her own bakery. All she wants to do now is achieve the rest of her dream by franchising her business, but in order to do that she needs to earn a bit more money and save that up, but with her focusing on baking and doing her best with just one other staff member she has no other time to even think about dating. However, her friends have other ideas and can’t help but go ahead and butt in by setting her up on a blind date.
She knows for a fact that there’s no way of getting out of it, but luckily she manages to get her friends to agree that this is the last one… but when she turns up for her date the last person she expected to be set up with was the one guy who she never thought she’d lay eyes on again… Maverick.
The shock of seeing her one night stand throws her completely but she manages to compose herself and tells him straight that she’s not going to date him as she doesn’t have time…
But seeing him the next day, what will she make of him when he’s in her bakery and what does his proposition mean for her?? Will she accept what he’s offering or is there more to what he’s asking???
