I know that the minute I picked up book three in this series that I was going to be reading things backwards, plus in a way book three did have some spoilers in for this book, but honestly, I wasn’t too worried because I just love reading anything by Emma Hart and this time, I was not disappointed.
I still loved getting to experience London’s journey because it had been a while since she’d been back home and now, she’s attempting to find her footing again even though in a way it’s like she never left. I thought that London was an interesting character because she had a life of her own all set up, but all that changed after her ex decided to hurt her and up and leave both her and their son (Leo). It was interesting getting to see how things were for her now that both her and Leo was back home, and she had the support of her family around them if she ever needed them.
I thought that she was a quirky character and that she was a good mother to Leo, I hated that she was hurt in the past, but that still wasn’t to say that she couldn’t go and find happiness. I understand wanting to protect her son because whoever she does decide to get serious with she needs to make sure that they are going to not only be there for her, but for Leo too but as well understand that Leo comes first, but hiding behind him doesn’t exactly make sense because you can only do it for so long until it becomes invalid.
I still think that this world is pretty incredible and I wish that Emma actually writes books for either even more characters or better yet maybe a spin-off series for the elderlies living in the retirement home, it’s always having something whacky going on, so it would just make this even more perfect as you can never get enough of them.
I love what Emma did when it came to telling London’s story and how things progressed with her and Leo back home, I think if anything she gave them both justice and it was interesting seeing her place roots back there for good.
I couldn’t fault the story and loved every minute of it, but Emma tends to do with her stories, she just is able to create up either a world or story and just manages to grip you and you can’t help but want more. She is pretty talented to be able to do this, but then again that’s just my opinion. I’m really excited to see what else she produces because I just want to keep on reading her work as her writing is way too good.
London is back home, has a job and has a place that she can call home where she lives with her son, Leo. However, instead of spending the night with her son, she’s being forced into attending another one of the Speed Dating nights that they’re having in her aunt’s restaurant. It’s a disaster as there’s no one who she’s even the slightest interested in, but when her aunt talks her into attending another one, she can’t believe her mind.
When it becomes apparent that her boss wants her to take over the big project coming up, she’s in luck because for ages she’s been doing most of the work for the editor and it’s just been a nightmare for her. She can’t believe her luck when she’s told that her boss wants her to do a full paper on the Sports Centre, not only does her son attend there for his obsession with football, but as well she’s had eyes for Oliver for quite some time and now she has the chance to spend some actual time with him.
Will she be able to tackle to big project on her own or will her editor try and ruin it for her??
Will it just be a one-sided thing in terms of anything happening with Oliver??
Will Leo’s dad actually make the effort to actually go ahead and move closer just so that he can help take some of the parenting off London???
