This book is a lot different to the others in this series, for me when I’ve seen the title of the book and then read its contents I normally see why the book has the title it does… Normally they’re incorporated into the story and I honestly love that as it doesn’t give off a second meaning… This book however, it didn’t give me the feel that Lila Monroe’s books normally give off. For instance to me, when I see the title I think that the lead female is going to come up with a way to make her love life actually go somewhere, for it to be exciting and to plan every little detail, but in reality, this book is so different from that. If anything, to me I don’t think the title lives up to what the contents are inside… That being said, Lila has done an amazing job with the book, but I just don’t feel that this one lives up to what the other four have produced. Plus, I noticed that some things felt either unresolved or were just missed off completely. For example, when Liam reveals to Eliza about how he’s felt about her, or what he’s wanted to do to her for so long or the fact he hasn’t stopped thinking about her, that I loved because it was him opening up… However, I felt that it would have been even better had Eliza revealed to him that when he called her that one time, she ended up pleasuring herself over the phone whilst he was talking to her… Now that would have brought the spice up even more, plus it would have made things more interesting when it came to them revealing things about the other to them. I would mention other bits, but truthfully, I don’t feel it would be right because it would ruin the story and I would hate to spoil anything about it.
I have no idea if Lila is planning on doing another book with this series, but in my honest opinion (and I already know that others are going to think differently) I think it would be best to leave this series as it is now because in a way it did seem as I was reading this book that Lila wasn’t fully invested in this book, like she was done with the series. Even though this book was an enjoyable read, I think it might be best if she just starts with a new series next time, I’m not trying to sound mean or judgemental here because I know how much time and investment goes into creating a book, but I’m just voicing my opinion, I’d much rather get to read a new series which is completely fresh with new ideas than to get another book in a series where it seems in the writing the author isn’t fully invested anymore.
That being said, I did like both Liam and Eliza, I thought they were both interesting characters, they are complete opposites, but how the plot is written works in such a good way.
Eliza has just had a great promotion and is looking forward to being able to do her dream job….. But there’s a catch, just as she gets the promotion she wants, her boss (Harry) passes away and now Eliza and her friends are scared they’re going to lose their jobs. However, when it’s revealed that Harry’s son is coming in and taking over as CEO and no one knows just how to handle it. So it’s a shock for Eliza when she realises that Liam is the guy who she had the pleasure of meeting the other night and kissing randomly before he ran away….
With talks that the company is going to go under, Eliza is determined to find a way to keep her and her friend’s jobs and find a way to save the company, but will Liam be willing to help her out or is he set to screw them all over?????
