So far I have loved everything that the incredible Lex Martin has written and I just can’t get enough of her work, it seems like it’s been a while since she released anything but I’m so happy that I got to devour this book. It had everything that you could ask for in a book, plus Lex knows the type of things to keep you as a reader hooked and following along with the story.
I never get tired of reading anything by Lex, she’s talented and knows how to create worlds in which there’s so much to explore. What I loved even more was that there was characters from her previous books that were intertwined in the story and it just made the story even more special. My heart broke at times for both Rider and Gabby because they are both such kind souls, they have their own issues going on but it’s such a touching journey for them both.
They both have an understanding of being alone, but also knowing how cruel life can be at times and within this book they both grow as characters.
I honestly couldn’t fault the writing or the plot, don’t get me wrong I would have loved to have known what was ever done in terms of Miranda (Riders ex) and Jason as they both clearly did things and it would have been nice to have seen what went on with them both as they were both important parts to the story at times.
Other than that, I thought it was pretty incredible and I can’t wait to see what else Lex does next. I do think it would be awesome if she wrote books for all of the players of the team or even her roommates Sienna because I found them to be great assets to the story.
I’d recommend going ahead and picking up this book as it has everything you could dream of, a hot football player, drama, chemistry, a single dad and oh so much more.
Gabby has vowed that she will not fall into the trap of loving or doing anything for Rider again. After what happened three years ago, she can’t trust him or her heart to break her.
Yet when it becomes apparent that Rider and his teammates need her help, she can’t help but go ahead and give it to them because she can’t let Poppy end up in foster care due to her already going through it and knowing how much it can do damage it can do.
Will they be able to figure out the puzzle when it comes to Poppy and will Gabby be able to find it in her heart to forgive Rider for what happened three years ago or is that set to never be fixed???
