Before you read this book you might think that it's either going to be like Twilight or just like any other Vampire book, but I can tell you now that you are completely wrong. If I was you I would actually try reading it to the end first before you give your opinion as whilst you are reading this it might just take you by surprise.
First of all there are three types of people in the Vampire world, you have the Dhampir's who are there to serve and protect the Moroi. The Moroi who have gift from one of the four categories: Water, Fire, Earth and Air. Then there's the Strigoi and these are the bad guys, the only way to turn into one of these is by taking the life of someone else, but with a bite to the neck.
We start of with Rose who has ran away from the Academy for around two years now with Lissa and even though Rose can't exactly remember the reason for in the first place, when they get back to academy she slowly starts getting flashbacks as to what really went on before they ran away. However due to the lack of training for Rose, she now has to take extra training sessions with Dimitri just so she can compete with the other students in her class.
However even though things seem to be progressing and going back into routine, not everything is as it seems as someone keeps putting dead animals in Lissa's room and bag. At first both Rose and Lissa seem to think it's one of the younger girls who stole Lissa's boyfriend but later they realise that they might be in a lot more deep than they think. Will Rose be able to kick ass and figure out how to save Lissa before anything bad happens or will she be too late.
Once you have read this book, make sure not to miss out on the other five in the series, because as soon as you start to read them you won't want to put them down until the very last page of the very last book.
