I’ve read loads of books by Bella Emy and have loved every one of them, but S.S. Richards is new to her work and after reading this book by both of these authors I have to say that I’m impressed. I enjoyed the story and loved the twists and turns that happened, the story was also very developed and I loved the journey that it took us on. With how this book was written and ended I’m quite intrigued to see how the next book plays out because truthfully I have a feeling that things are about to go in a completely different direction.
The one thing that I found odd if anything was how naïve Eliana was and I know that when you’re first off out into the real world or are first away from home and are starting college it can be pretty intimidating so more often than not, you’ll find yourself being in situations where everything just seems to be overwhelming, but you’ll end up being a little naïve… that I can understand, but when there’s times that your guy is warning you that alarms bells are ringing and to be careful how you handle something but instead of listening to it, you choose to ignore it all the time and end up being extremely naïve. This is literally how it was with Eliana, now don’t get me wrong, she’s a smart girl, but I just thought it was odd with how she acted most of the time, instead of asking what was bothering her, she’d just forget about it and just go with it. To make it worse, her Aunt had warned her multiple of times about things and to be careful and I know that to Eliana it may seem like her Aunt is taking it to the next level or being paranoid, but surely the woman who’s been looking after her, Eliana would respect her enough to realise she’s not just saying this to get some kicks, she’s just worried and wants the best for her Niece.
Other than that, I do think that this was a great read and I’m super excited to see what else happens and to discover more of S.S. Richards work as after reading this one, I’m intrigued to see what else she has written.
Eliana has lost both of her parents and whilst they were at different times and different circumstances, her fathers’ death will be the one that she’ll never forget, especially not thanks to the constant reminders from her nightly dreams.
It’s eight years on from losing her father and Eliana is now off to the place where she used to live, back home… And whilst her Aunt and Uncles aren’t happy about this, they understand that she needs to do this, so that she can go and study at college.
With warnings from her Aunt about being carful and needing to stay at the college, she chooses to push them out of her mind as she’s determined that she can look after herself.
Her first night out and she ends up bumping into Michael… there’s something mysterious to him. Will she choose to stick with her aunt’s warning or will Michael be someone completely different than what she expected???
