I always get excited any time that I see Shauna McDonnell is planning on releasing a new book, her work is just incredible I know I just need to give it a read. I fell in love with her work from the first book I read of hers, and now 4 books later I still love her writing. Although, what I love the most is that her writing has grown such a lot since the beginning and the passion that she has for writing shines through each of the words that she’s written. This book is different from her other work, it’s light-hearted, gives you a laugh and just seems a lot lighter, but it’s something that we all need right now with how the world is.
I loved every minute of this book, the characters were all quirky and had such interesting personalities, I loved the relationship between Danny and Ava, the plot was just great and easy to follow. I literally can’t complain about anything, Shauna did an amazing job as always and I can’t fault her or her writing.
She had me gripped from the first page and I didn’t want to put it down at all.
I’m excited to see what she has planned next because I’m that in love with her writing.
Ava is socially awkward, but Danny loves her just the way she is. Ava is the type of girl who would be happy to come home, chill on the couch and watch Netflix, even on a date that is her favourite thing to do. She’s been in love with her best friend (Danny) for sooo long… but she’s too afraid to tell him 1, being the fact that he’s already in a committed relationship and 2, because she doesn’t want to ruin their friendship.
What she doesn’t know is that Danny has been harbouring feelings for a good while, but instead of him actually giving into his feelings, he chooses to run from them… However, when he decides to end it with his current girlfriend and moves in with Ava, will either of them come out of their comfort zones and actually confess how they’re truly feeling or will they just skirt around each other???
